The first and second laws of thermodynamics
Thermodynamics ordinarily heat changes. What this means is that thermodynamics means changes that takes place in from one body to another in reference to their heat capacity. Ok accurately energy is a form of heat or another word heat is a form of energy and how it can be changed or converted from one form medium to another is governed by two law. In the science field energy cannot be destroyed it can only be converted so we have so many types of energy forms which I will not be listing on this article but from subsequent articles I will be able to treat types of energy
So what are the two laws of thermodynamics?
First law of thermodynamics. This law called the first law of thermodynamics state or simply put this way it says that energy can neither be created nor destroyed. What this means is that you can easily gain energy by adding energy from other sources but you cannot create energy from the scratch and that means that energy is static in nature. it is not created, it is gained, added to become more but you can't create a fresh energy out of nothing. So in a nutshell what the first law of thermodynamics states that we can transform as in transfer or change energy from one body to another adding up the number or quantity of energy present in the new organism but it cannot be destroyed
Second law of thermodynamics. A statement of fact the second law of thermodynamics states that in any conversion of energy from one form to another there is always a decrease in the amount of useful energy present in the new organisms that the energy is transferred to. Let me quickly explain what this second law of thermodynamics implies ok what this is saying is that the law states that no transformation of energy from one state to another is over hundred percent accurate or hundred percent in terms of the energy retention which means the mediums or the conversion process will have to reduce the energy that is been transferred from the initial quantity
In summary of the laws of thermodynamics we can assume that their political phenomena or event can be explained using thermodynamics. So in summary of this we are saying that the first law states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed or they can be changed from one form to another why the second law of thermodynamics states that the energy is self can never be transferred if you are going to transfer say at least 300g of of energy and then you expect to get the same amount after transferring it, that is not possible
A short summary is that you can't create energy
That energy can only be transferred and not created
This law states that you can never get the same amount of energy after transferring it from one form to another
Of the first and second law of thermodynamics is that you should never expect to get the same amount of energy after transferring or conversion there will always be a decrease in quantity
The importance of the first and second laws of thermodynamics
The first importance or advantage of the laws of thermodynamics is that the ecological phenomenon or event in life can be explained using the laws of thermodynamics
The laws of thermodynamics can also be used to explain the energy transfer or generated through the sun and to the producer and to the final consumer in the food chain
World importance of the laws of thermodynamics is that it can also be used to explain the pyramid of energy in the food chain or ecosystem
As much as there is a transfer of energy through the various trophic levels and part of this energy is lost as heat therefore the laws of thermodynamics is very important in explaining what happens to energy loss during transfer
It is important for you to know that as a science student trying to find out what happens to energy transfer from the sun to the producer of food in in a food chain and to the consumers and to the tertiary consumers you will understand that using the second law the transfer of energy between trophic levels is not hundred percent 100% or it is not completely transferred
Here are a few questions that will help you understand what energy transfers or the laws of thermodynamics is talking abouts
1. How does energy living organisms carried out energy transmission
The answer to this question is very simple to refer that every food we eat contains energy and energy is the power to do to carry out our everyday activity so when we eat food like grass fishes milk we are consuming energy giving food
